Class 312/0 No. 312001 has just passed Brookmans Park Station with an up empty stock working on 9th December 1977. Built at BREL York in 1977 the unit was renumbered as a Class 312/7 No. 312701 in May 1979. Transferred to the Anglia services out of Liverpool Street Station in the late 1980s the decision to cease using slam door stock signalled the end for this and other similar classes in the early years of this century. Simms Metals of Newport, Gwent scrapping the unit during December 2004.
