Class 143 No. 143019 waits in Edinburgh Waverley Station on Monday 24th March 1986 on the re-opening day of services to Bathgate. Coupled behind is similar unit No. 143016. Both units had been borrowed from their home Depot of Heaton, Newcastle where they had been allocated from new in 1985. Of note is the substantial headboard fitted to the front of No. 143019 for the occasion. Both units are still operational as we start 2014 No. 143019 with First Great Western operating throughout the West Country and No. 143016 with Arriva Trains Wales, although both have been renumbered to No. 143619, 143616 respectively.
