On Wednesday 29th March 1989 Class 56 No. 56127 eases it's Cawoods Containerised coal train off the Miles Platting loop line and enters Manchester Victoria Station from the Rochdale direction. Built at BREL Crewe Works she entered service from Tinsley TMD during December 1983 moving to Toton by 1988 and is seen here in Railfreight two-tone grey colours with Trainload Coal markings. Withdrawn from Thornaby TMD in February 2002 No. 56127 was eventually scrapped by European Metal Recycling of Hartlepool during September 2010 after a long period of storage. The loop line was closed and the track lifted in the early 1990's.
