A portrait view of Class 101 DMBS No. 51470 is stabled at Ayr MPD, on an overcast 2nd May 1978. Allocated to Leith Central DMD from new in late 1959 she was refurbished in December 1976 and the Set No. 175 under the drivers window should indicate that it was allocated to Ayr MPD by the time of this image. The stylised GG emblem, (Greater Glasgow), on the bodyside was fairly short lived and the white and blue colour scheme was found to be difficult to keep clean. Withdrawn in April 1988 it was cut up by MC Metals at their yard next to Glasgow Works during October 1989.
