In unrecorded circumstances on 13th September 1986, possibly relating to a filming assignment, immaculately presented Class 50 No. 50035 'Ark Royal' finds itself at the buffer stops at Bourne End, the terminus of the truncated Wycombe Railway from Maidenhead. Meanwhile WR unit 120, a single (bubble-) car Class 121 DMU No. W55020 is ready to depart with the Marlow Donkey which branches off to the right instead of crossing the Thames as it leaves the village. In former years travellers would have had the choice of heading south to Maidenhead for the GW main line or north to what is now the Chiltern Railways line at High Wycombe for Marylebone or Birmingham. The DMU had been turned out in chocolate and cream as part of the GW150 celebrations the previous year.
