The massive 1000mw Bobov Dol Power Complex near Dupnitsa in Western Bulgaria has a huge appetite for coal. Low quality brown coal is sourced from two mines close to the Serbian border at Beli Breg and Stanyantsi. An in-house rail transport company (TBD) operates a substantial number of supply workings throughout each week. Skoda electric Class 44 No. 44-092 working in top and tail configuration with Class 43 No. 43-556 departs Hrabarsko with loaded coal hoppers from the Beli Breg mine to the Bobov Dol Power station on 21st March 2022.
