Visiting Sofia's Iliyantsi station and yard always provides a constant variety of diesel shunters going about their duties. Express services have recently appeared on the scene as confirmed here when 55-123 was captured shunting the cement tanks on 11th March 2025. This company, based near Ruse in the north of the country also appears to have the contract to deliver the new SIEMENS Smartron Electric Class 80 locomotives to BDZ-PP at their Poduyne Depot in Sofia, as and when required.
