The south-west was rare track indeed for LNER B1 No. 61306 'Mayflower' when this image was recorded on April Fools Day 2015. It is captured storming through Teignmouth and onto the sea wall section with 'The Cathedrals Express' charter. Both looking and sounding superb, the 'B1' works the return run to Oxford from Kingswear. On arrival at Paignton earlier in the day, following some poor steaming during the latter part of the outbound run from Oxford, it became necessary to execute a small welding repair after it was discovered that the ash pan rocker had become stuck in the open position.
