Parked up amongst the weeds at Pleven-Zapad is relatively recently refurbished TBD TP (Tovarni Prevozi) Class 44 SKODA electric No. 44-072. Refurbishing and repainting became necessary following a serious electrical fire in January 2023 resulting in the loco not returning to service until July the following year. Originally owned by BDZ, 44-072 was one of the first two SKODAs to join the fleet in 2016. It has recently been noted employed on sand trains from Samuil and Devnya in the north east of the country to Filipovo in Plovdiv. But clearly not on 4th October 2024 when this image was recorded.
