The Sofia tram system runs predominantly on 1009mm track but also some routes use the 1435mm standard gauge. This view taken in Pirotska St clearly demonstrates the two gauges where they run along the same stretch of road. Long since retired Duewag B4 car No. 4214 and trailer are captured on 5th September 2014 on route 22 which runs between Avtostantsiya and Krasna Polyana. These standard gauge Duewag tram sets were acquired second-hand from Bonn (Germany) and served the city well between 1995-2017. They were replaced by former Prague Tatra T6A5 trams, also purchased via the second-hand market.
