Imported from the UK, examples of Class 87 electric locomotives could often be found either working or assisting the sulphuric acid workings from Pirdop to Razdelna, Eastern Bulgaria. Taking a rest between duties, private freight operator BZK (Bulgarian Railway Company) 87026 stands in 30 degree C sunshine at Razdelna. At the time this image was taken on 11th June 2018, the former British Rail BZK Class 87s were based in central Bulgaria at Pirdop. Now, in 2023 the preferred stabling point is Iliyantsi, Sofia.
