It's all change at Pirdop on the Bulgarian sub-Balkan main line. Burgas-based private railway carrier and shunting operator PORT RAIL Ltd has won the contract to handle incoming and outgoing railway workings at the AURUBIS copper plant at Pirdop Yard. Previously, DB SHENKER (Bulgaria) held this contract but lost it to PORT RAIL in October 2019. Class 06-305 prepares to move a rake of covered box wagons from the reception road to the AURUBIS facility on the opposite side of the yard on 5th September 2022. PORT RAIL also serves the cargo flow between Pirdop and Zlatitsa for Assanel-Medet AD and Ellatzite-Med AD.
