In Bulgaria LINE 28 which runs northwards from the Varna area through Dobrich as far as Kardam close to the Romanian border is non-electrified for most of the route. Services are scheduled to be operated three times a day by SIEMENS Desiro DMU Class 10 and twice by Class 07/1 locomotives, the latter also conveying a through sleeper coach from the capital city Sofia. On 17th September 2022, BDZ PP Co-Co Heavyweight Diesel 07-106 is pictured leaving Dobrich station with train service SUB 28205 (12:10) Dobrich to Varna. Interesting to note that this train has already worked south from Kardam to Dobrich where during a brief six minute stop the train service changes it's identity from SUB 28221 to SUB 28205. This presumably is something to do with the fact that the train does not offer a sleeper service north of Dobrich.
