BZK (Bulgarian Railway Company) still enjoys a major contract with Aurubis at Pirdop, Bulgaria's major copper refinery. Stationed at Pirdop for shunting duties Romanian built 80-0067 makes an interesting comparison to the two imported UK Class 87 electrics 87-004 Britannia and 87-028 which it is coupled to. The difference in gauge is considerable dwarfing the not so small British built electrics, the extra height giving excellent vision in all directions, perfect for the duties it was designed for. In Grup Feroviar Roman livery with stickers reading 'Bulgarian Railway Company' in Cyrillic this scene was recorded at Pirdop on 5th September 2022. A solitary BDZ (PP) Class 46 stands at the far end of the station area awaiting its next call to duty.
