Following the discovery that the booked SR King Arthur Class 4-6-0 No. 777 Sir Lamiel was out of gauge for the former LSWR route to Salisbury, the return Atlantic Coast Express from Exeter to London Waterloo on 7th April 2012 required the itinerary to be altered. In the end, WCRC Class 57/6 No. 57601 worked the initial leg as far as Salisbury, pictured here in top and tail formation with SR Battle of Britain Class Pacific No. 34067 Tangmere as it passes Weycroft Mill, just beyond Axminster East Junction. From Salisbury the train was turned to allow Tangmere to lead back to London Waterloo.
