BDZ TP Electroputere Class 46 No. 91 52 0046028-4 is seen entering the eastern side of Pirdop Yard on 9th October 2023 with a mixed consist of box wagons and Sulphuric Acid tanks. The contract for this and other similar workings between Pirdop and the Black Sea coast was formerly held by BZK (Bulgarian Railway Company) who, for a number of years deployed the imported British Class 87 electrics on these workings but now the BDZ Class 46 is the type to be found assigned to these duties. Consequently, Pirdop is no longer the magnet it once was for British railway photographers now that the Class 87s have been re-located to Sofia.
