Early evening at Pirdop and the second of two scheduled eastbound loaded Sulphric Acid tank workings waits for the road on 22nd June 2016. Sulphuric Acid is a by-product of the copper extraction process at the Pirdop Aurubis facility. BZK (Bulgarian Railway Company) Electroputere Class 40 No. 40-0409 in Rolling Stock livery heads the train with British Class 87 No. 87007 tucked in behind. Heavy loads such as this require a third working locomotive on the rear, 87019 giving the extra push required for the somewhat torturous Sub-Balkan main line.
