Last rays of the sun are about to disappear at Voluyak freight yard on 21st October 2024. BDZ TP (BDZ CARGO) Electroputere LH5100 No. 46-037 waits time for an eastbound bogie tank departure. These BDZ workhorses can be found working numerous types of freight flows across the Bulgarian railway network. The Class is split into three variants, Class 46/0, 46/1 and Class 46/2, the latter refurbished for express passenger work, all of which are based at Sofia where as the freight dedicated locos are allocated to Burgas. Note the somewhat unusual design of the cement tanks on the right while on the opposite side TBD 46-014 and 06-302 run round an empty rake of Bo-bov Dol coal hoppers prior to departing to the west to collect more open cast coal.
