With the recently acquired former DB Fernverkehr City DB IC1 coaches now being introduced on long distance services across Bulgaria we find SKODA 44-107 working the FAST 2614 (10:45) Varna to Sofia Central. The electrical systems of these DB coaches are not compatible with the new SIEMENS Smartron Class 80 locomotives so SKODA's, which are, have returned to many of the long distance Varna and Burgas duties. Consequently some of the Class 80 Smartrons can now be observed on lesser workings across the Bulgarian network. Image was recorded on the eastern outskirts of Levski on 1st October 2024.
