Construction of the long Rhodope Valley Railway began quite late in 1921 and not actually completed until 1945. The narrow gauge line cuts right through the heart of the Rhodope Mountain range from Septemvri to Dobrinishte in the south. The northern section of the line follows both the road and river through the very scenic Chepino Valley climbing steadily most of the way to the summit of the line at Avramovo. On 16th June 2016 German built Henschel B-B Class 75005 is captured working the grade through the Chepino Valley section assigned to service Ord 16105 (13:20) Septemvri to Dobrinishte.
