DB SHENKER (Bulgaria) has lost out to Burgas-based PORT RAIL with regards to the contract for shunting duties at Pirdop on the Bulgarian Sub-Balkhan main line. New kids on the block PORT RAIL now dominate this well known location with Class 55, 06 and 07 locomotives having been noted in use. Acquired from BDZ TP (Bulgarian State run Railway Cargo Division) Class 07 No. 07070 is captured hard at work at Pirdop on a glorious 9th October 2023. This locomotive was sourced specifically to fulfill the requirement for a heavy weight diesel locomotive that could handle the heaviest rakes of wagons in and out of the Aurubis copper facility.
