Karlovo-based DB (Bulgaria) former Danish Class 86 No. 86-017 waits for the road at Svetovrachane with an eastbound intermodal service on 18th October 2024, much to the displeasure of local residents who found their usual direct route across the running lines completely blocked. This location is currently seeing an increase of freight workings heading both east and westbound due to the restricted paths through Sofia Central and beyond to and from Plovdiv. Here, one of the train crew wound down his window clearly concerned about the safety issue when crossing so close to the loco and below the drivers line of sight. A swift reply was forthcoming resulting in a short if not somewhat heated discussion between all concerned!.
